The Year That Changed My Fandom For Good pt.2

The Year That Changed My Fandom For Good Almost immediately after the moves the LA Clippers made in the offseason, they were on every sports analysis show projected to win it all. They had a tremendous regular season, finishing 2nd in the tumultuous Western Conference. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the post-season. The Clippers ended up beating the Dallas Mavericks in the first round to advance to the Western Conference Semi-Finals, where they would lose to the nuggets in 7 games. Not only did we lose, but we did so in horrid fashion. We opened up the series having a 3-1 lead and only needed to win 1 more game to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Unfortunately, poor play from both of our stars and horrible coaching led to us blowing the 3-1 lead and the Denver Nuggets ended up winning the series in 7 games. As a fan, I was flustered, I had very high expectations for this team just to end up losing in the same old fashioned Clipper way. This was my second time wa...

The Year That Changed My Fandom For Good

The Year That Changed My Fandom For Good Following the devastating playoff loss to the Utah Jazz in 2017, the Clippers decided to blow the whole team up and enter a rebuilding period for the franchise. This would end the era known as "Lob City" in which is the first basketball team I've ever grown accustomed too. In the draft that same year, the Clippers went on to draft Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, whom was and still is one of my favorite players in the league. Shai went on to have a decent rookie season, averaging 10 PPG, 4 RPG and 4 APG. He also earned the honor of All-Rookie second team in his rookie year. Following the magnificent playoff run of the 2018-2019 season, where we were underdogs and showed great strength as a team to one of the best basketball teams to ever touch the court, we made franchise altering moves in the summer of 2019. The Clippers made one of the biggest trades in franchise history, sending Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danillo Gallanari and seven fir...

Where It All Began

Where It All Began The first team I fell in love with was the 2013-2014 Los Angeles Clippers. The team featured stars like Chris Paul , Deandre Jordan and my personal favorite, Blake Griffin . Blake Griffin was the sole reason in me becoming a Clippers fan. His insane dunks were mesmerizing and something I've never seen before.  Below is an example of the Incredible dunk that first caught my eye. The team finished with a record of 57-25, ranking third in the Western Conference. Then came my first playoff series experience with this team and, quite honestly, it was one of my favorite playoff series I've experienced. We went on to beat Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in 7 games and advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals. This is where things got rocky. We fought very hard, but we unfortunately fell to the Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant  lead Oklahoma City Thunder in 6 games.

Introduction

Introduction Welcome to the debut of my blog, The Duality of The NBA Franchise: The Los Angeles Clippers. I currently attend a college in North Carolina and consider myself a sports fanatic. My goal with this blog is to really address the high's and low's of being a sports fan from my own personal experiences. Ever since I could remember, I loved everything about the Los Angeles Clippers. Growing up in Southern California, basketball was an integral part of recess conversations and when I began to dive more into the NBA I only had two choices, the Los Angeles Lakers or the Los Angeles Clippers. I chose the Clippers, a decision I regret quite often, but grew to love. I've experienced many high's and many low's with this team, but have yet to lose my pride in saying I am a Clippers' fan, so I suppose that stands for something. If you're also a sports fanatic, I hope you find comfort and relatable scenarios that make you feel slightly better about the love for ...
